What Le Teint Nu will not do
- Replace sunscreen. Sun is most of visible ageing, and we do not make an SPF — buy one you will actually wear.
- Work overnight. Skin moves at its own pace, and anything sold on a faster one is selling the promise.
Buy something else if
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding. It contains a retinoid; that is a question for your doctor, not for us.
- You need it this week. Nothing is made until you order it: two to four business days to make, then the lab's weekly dispatch — up to seven business days before it even ships. The first time the lab makes a piece for us it can take up to two weeks longer.
When to judge it: about four weeks. Comfort arrives the first evening; the rest is slower, and we would rather you measured us against the slow number.

How do I find my shade in Le Teint Nu?
Use the Shade Finder on site — it matches by depth and undertone rather than by name. If you are between two shades, take the lighter one for winter and the deeper for summer, or mix them.
What is the coverage and finish?
Buildable, with a natural, skin-like finish rather than a flat mask. One layer evens tone; a second layer over specific areas gives more coverage without looking heavy.
How do I make it last longer?
Primer on the areas that break down first, thin layers rather than one thick one, and a light dusting of setting powder only where you get shiny.
Is it suitable for sensitive or breakout-prone skin?
Patch test first if your skin reacts easily, and check the full ingredient list on this page. As with any base, remove it properly at night — a thorough cleanse matters more for congestion than the foundation itself.
Can I use it if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Its ingredient list includes retinyl palmitate, a form of vitamin A. Retinoids are generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so please ask your doctor before using Le Teint Nu.
Is Le Teint Nu cruelty-free — and is it vegan?
Cruelty-free, without exception: nothing in the range is tested on animals, at any stage or by any party. Vegan: we don't yet hold the full ingredient list for Le Teint Nu, so we won't claim it until we do. Most of the range is vegan; going by our lab's lists, these pieces are not: La Crème (beeswax); La Crème de Nuit (beeswax); Le Contour (lanolin alcohol and honey); Le Gommage Corps (honey); L'Anticerne (lanolin (as acetylated lanolin alcohol)); L'Éclat (lanolin and beeswax, and some shades may contain carmine); La Teinte (beeswax in sixteen of its twenty-two shades, and most may contain carmine; Shy, Cinnamon, Rose, Firedown and Dazzle read vegan); Le Crayon Lèvres (beeswax); Le Rouge (a synthetic wax rather than beeswax, but some shades may contain carmine); L'Élixir (honey (as mel extract)); La Crème de Jour (honey (as mel extract)); Le Mascara (beeswax).
