Is Divina a vegan brand?
Mostly, and never in the blanket way. 29 pieces are vegan, going by their ingredient lists or, for the few without one yet, their maker's word; 12 aren't, because they contain beeswax, lanolin, honey or carmine, and each says so on its own page. Every piece is cruelty-free.
How do you decide a piece is vegan?
We read the maker’s full ingredient list, shade by shade, and check every ingredient’s source. A piece is on this page when nothing on its list is animal-derived. Glycerin, stearic acid and lecithin can come from plants or animals and lists don’t say which; we count them as plant-derived, since that is the norm, and say so on their ingredient pages.
Is vegan the same as cruelty-free?
No. Cruelty-free means not tested on animals; vegan means containing no animal-derived ingredients. A lipstick can be cruelty-free and still contain beeswax or carmine. Every Divina piece is cruelty-free; the pieces on this page are vegan too.
