Sucrose is ordinary sugar, from sugar cane or sugar beet. In a scrub it is used as fine crystals.

Why it’s in a formula
The crystals polish away flaky skin, then dissolve with the warmth and moisture of your lips, so the scrub softens as you go. Sugar also draws in water.
- Some cane sugar is filtered through bone char during refining. Nothing from the char stays in the sugar, and a list can't say how its sugar was refined. We count it as vegan, as the maker of Les Petits does.

Is a sugar scrub good for your lips?
Used gently once or twice a week, yes: it lifts dry flakes and dissolves as you go. Follow with a balm.
How often should you use a lip scrub?
Once or twice a week is plenty. Scrubbing every day can leave lips sore.
