Why it’s in a formula
It gives powders and lip products their slip, helps pigments spread, and leaves a silky rather than greasy finish.

Does ethylhexyl palmitate clog pores?
It appears on some comedogenic lists, but those lists are based on old animal tests that don't translate reliably to people. In finished makeup it rarely causes problems; patch-test if you're prone to breakouts.
