Why it’s in a formula
It gives glosses and lipsticks their shine and cushion, and helps pigments spread evenly.
- PEG-hydrogenated castor oil, which appears on some lists, is a different ingredient: a castor-derived emulsifier.

Does castor oil grow lashes?
There is no good evidence that it does. It conditions lashes, which can make them look glossier.
