Why it’s in a formula
It gives a powder its slip and softness, absorbs oil, and blurs the look of skin.
- The safety debate about talc is about asbestos, a mineral that can form near talc deposits. Cosmetic talc is supposed to be asbestos-free, and in the US the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 directed the FDA to set testing standards for it. We don’t hold asbestos test certificates for these batches, so if that matters to you, choose a talc-free piece.
