Colour and minerals
Calcium aluminum borosilicate and calcium titanium borosilicate are thin flakes of glass, coated with titanium dioxide, iron oxides or tin oxide to make them reflect colour.
They give a sparkling, high-shine finish that mica can't. Tin oxide helps the coating settle evenly on the flakes.
