Why it’s in a formula
It carries pigments on, then leaves, so a lipstick or mascara sets and stays put. That is what makes long-wear formulas long-wearing.
- Because it evaporates, long-wear lip colour can feel drier than a cream lipstick. A lip conditioner underneath helps.

Why does long-wear lipstick feel drying?
Volatile ingredients such as isododecane evaporate to set the colour, taking some slip with them. Prep lips with a conditioner first.
